Bullitt Chase Scene

When I think of car chase scenes, the Steve McQueen/Bullitt chase scene is by far my favorite. Interestingly the driver of the Dodge Charger was Bill Hickman. Bill not only drove the Charger and was one of the hitman in the movie, but he also helped with the chase scene choreography. To find out more about Bill see this article “Why Bill Hickman is Hollywood’s greatest ever stunt driver.

And if you haven’t seen it already, Greg Laurie did a book titled “Steve McQueen: The Salvation of an American Icon” which gave me a lot of insight on Steve that I haven’t read anywhere else, it is definitely worth it.

Hudson Car Logo Art

This is finished art of a Hudson car logo. In a previous post I wrote that I was so focused on getting a good up-close photograph of this logo that I forgot to make a note about the car.

After some research on different Hudson models I think the car was a 1953 Hudson Hornet. I say that because there is good image of a 1953 Hudson Hornet on Jay Leno’s Garage website plus another site and you’ll notice a similar pattern of line work in the chrome around the logo.

The artwork is 18 x 24.

Linda Ronstadt Artwork

This is a portrait of Linda Ronstadt I just finished. The size of the artwork is 18 x 24.

When I was growing up it seemed like all of us guys had a crush on Linda. Her songs were on every radio station and I still like listening to her today.

When you go back and look at the videos of her performing live on stage and on TV shows, you really realize how powerful her voice was. Below are two videos of Linda, one with her singing “Long Long Time” on The Johnny Cash Show and “When Will I Be Loved” on the Midnight Special.

As with the portrait I did of Elvis, this isn’t automotive related, just something I was inspired to do.
